GDPR: protecting your privacy
Published on May 25, 2018
As you may be aware, 25th May marked the day that the long-awaited European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force. This legislation redefines the way in which the personal data of European citizens can be processed.
We are certain that this regulation will have a positive impact long term for our customers in Europe and the rest of the world. At Delegate, we are committed to protecting your personal data and so we have taken this opportunity to revise our contractual documents and formalize the way we process personal data.
We have updated both our General Terms and Conditions and Site Terms. Furthermore, on 25th May, we introduced our GDPR compliant Privacy Statement, which can be accessed at any time on the footer of our website. This statement details the data we collect, how we use it and your rights in accessing this data.
We consider ourselves as independent controllers as we act as an intermediary between IP firms, who themselves act as independent controllers. As such, no formal agreement is needed between our customers and Delegate to comply with GDPR regulations, other than the updated policies described above
The revised and new policies came into effect on 25th May 2018.
If you wish to discuss this in further detail, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
